One of DC’s hidden gem is Josephine Butler Parks Center adjacent to the Meridian Hill Park. This cozy historic mansion is managed by the DC park and recreation department. Small side garden and ground level cocktail area, 2nd floor well-lit seated and dancing area with two large mantles.

Navy blue, white, sage green, baby blue, silver; any of these wedding theme works really good with summer blue color blooms. Hydrangeas, gentiana, delphinium, thistle will be your choice of flowers along with other green or white flowers.
Garden flowers such as garden roses, peonies, astilbes, lilacs are arranged in science lab tubes. Composite centerpiece for country style setting.
University of Maryland offers some beautiful ceremony and reception sites for the College Park area couples and alumni of course. We had our beautiful summer wedding ceremony at the University of Maryland small chapel and courtyard area with round patio and water fountain by the main chapel. The couple moved their celebration to The Hotel in the University of Maryland ballroom just across the street. Very spacious and open feel new venue for this lay back couple. We decorated the room with contemporary crystal candelabras and silver and platinum and navy accents. Blue hydrangeas and orange Free spirit roses looked stunning to complement the platinum colors. Vibrant summer celebration!

For my upcoming spring couples, here’re some soft pastel color palette inspiration. Breezy and light, springy and soft, and of course romantic and innocent.
We had several last days of the year winter weddings, which were so romantic with warm and cozy feels. We did dusty grey green color foliages with burgundy wine color with hint of velvety red as for a winter theme.
Summer is mellow time but also good time to throw a casual and fun wedding! July and August is hot and humid here. So rather than all garden wedding, make a quick garden ceremony-to take advantage of beautiful gardens in the city or wineries and barns in the out skirt- and come in to enjoy air-conditioned cocktail and dinner party.
Whether your summer wedding is outside or inside, you can have beautiful local summer flowers for your bouquet! They are colorful, vivid, and dreamy in a different way.
